Aunque existen algunas excepciones, en general, en Am\u00e9rica del Norte el cabotaje est\u00e1 restringido para evitar la competencia extranjera en los mercados nacionales. Esas restricciones se aplican a cada modo de transporte en diferentes niveles, sin embargo, en esta publicaci\u00f3n, nos centraremos solo en el cabotaje para el transporte de carga terrestre.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/mexicomlogistics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/cabotaje-en-transporte-de-carga-en-mexico-canada-y-estados-unidos-scaled.jpg\" width=\"792\" height=\"894\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Restricciones de cabotaje en los EE. UU.<\/h3>\n<p>En los Estados Unidos, un conductor de cami\u00f3n que transporta mercanc\u00edas desde M\u00e9xico o desde Canad\u00e1 puede entregar esas mercanc\u00edas en una o varias ubicaciones en Am\u00e9rica del Norte. Adem\u00e1s, el choger\u00a0 puede recoger mercanc\u00edas en los EE. UU. para entregarlas a Canad\u00e1 o M\u00e9xico.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, un chofer extranjero no puede transportar una carga en la que las direcciones de recogida y entrega se encuentran en los EE. UU. Los conductores de camiones extranjeros no pueden transportar mercanc\u00edas dentro de dos puntos en el territorio mexicano.<\/p>\n<h2>Cabotaje vs transporte transfronterizo<\/h2>\n<p>El cabotaje es diferente al transporte internacional transfronterizo. En el cabotaje, un transportista extranjero puede transportar una carga en la que el origen y el destino se encuentran dentro de las fronteras del pa\u00eds anfitri\u00f3n, mientras que en el transporte que cruza la frontera, el transportista extranjero transporta una carga que tiene un origen o un destino ubicado dentro del territorio del pa\u00eds anfitri\u00f3n<\/p>\n<h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/mexicomlogistics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/cabotaje-en-transporte-de-carga-en-norte-america-scaled.jpg\" width=\"793\" height=\"551\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2>Impactos de las restricciones de cabotaje en Am\u00e9rica del Norte<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Protecci\u00f3n de los mercados nacionales.<\/li>\n<li>Viajes de vueltao de regreso vac\u00edos<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Por un lado, las restricciones de cabotaje ayudan a proteger la industria nacional de camiones de la competencia extranjera. Dado que los salarios m\u00ednimos del conductor de camiones var\u00edan en los pa\u00edses de Am\u00e9rica del Norte, las restricciones de cabotaje ayudan a proteger a los conductores de camiones que trabajan por salarios m\u00e1s altos.<\/p>\n<p>Por ejemplo, las restricciones de cabotaje impiden que los conductores de camiones mexicanos, que pueden trabajar en la misma ruta por menos dinero, brinden servicios de transporte dentro del territorio de los EE. UU. De esa manera, los conductores estadounidenses est\u00e1n protegidos de los competidores con salarios m\u00e1s bajos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Por otro lado, las restricciones de cabotaje conducen a \u00abbackhauls\u00bb vac\u00edos o, en otras palabras, a que existan viajes de regreso vac\u00edos. Todos los viajes de transporte de camiones son de ida y vuelta, lo que significa que cuando un cami\u00f3n hace un viaje para ir a alg\u00fan lugar, necesariamente tiene que hacer otro viaje para regresar.
